2012 Hazardous Waste & Used Electronics Collection

Mercer County has will hold three Household Hazardous Waste and Used Electronics Collection events in 2012. 

The collection dates will all be on Saturdays: March 10, July 14 and Sept. 22. Materials will be accepted between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. on those dates (rain or shine) at the John T. Dempster Fire School, Bakers Basin/Lawrence Staton Road, Lawrence Township. 

What to Bring:

• aerosol cans
• used motor oil
• propane gas tanks
• pesticides & herbicides
• car batteries
• paint thinner
• oil-based paint
• stains & varnishes
• gasoline
• anti-freeze
• driveway sealer
• insect repellents
• Mercury
• flourescents/CFLs/compact light bulbs

Used Electronics Collection

• computers & printers
• copiers & fax machines
• stereos & televisions
• microwaves 

What NOT to Bring:

• latex paint
• heating oil
• infectious waste
• radioactive materials
• explosives & munitions
• railroad ties
• asbestos
• tires
• wood
• fencing
• air conditioners
• helium & oxygen tanks
• unknowns
