2024 Election Results Certified: See How Princeton Voted
The Mercer County Clerk certified the election results on Wednesday. Here's who won and by how many votes:

PRINCETON, NJ — It's a wrap for the 2024 election in Mercer County. On Wednesday, the Mercer County Clerk's Office confirmed to Patch that the results from the general election had been certified following Election Day, which took place on Nov. 5.
Princeton voters cast ballots for three local races — mayor, town council, and the board of education.

With all 20 districts reporting, Christopher Santarpio, Mara Franceschi, and Ari Meisel emerged winners in the tightly contested Princeton Board of Education race.

Six candidates were vying for three open seats - Santarpio, Franceschi, Meisel, Z. Lisa Potter, Shenwei Zhao, and Erica Snyder.

- Christopher Santarpio - 5,022 (17.79%)
- Z. Lisa Potter -4,553 (16.13%)
- Mara Franceschi - 5,837 (20.68%)
- Shenwei Zhao - 3,204 (11.35%)
- Ari Meisel -4,832 (17.12%)
- Erica Snyder - 4,672 (16.55%)
Mayor & Council
The race for mayor and town council was uncontested in Princeton. Mayor Mark Freda handily won his reelection with 10,223 votes (99.04%).
Meanwhile, Leighton Newlin got 9,825 (49.61%) votes, and new councilman Brian McDonald got 9,885 (49.91%) votes.
The voter turnout in Mercer County was 60 percent. A total of 165,054 votes were cast across the county, which has a registered voter count of 270,617, according to the County Clerk's Office.
In the Presidential match-up, 65.67% of Mercer County voted for Kamala Harris and Tim Waltz, while 31.92% of residents voted for incoming President Donald Trump and JD Vance. Harris received 107,489 votes with Trump getting 52,250.
