Occupation: Retired. My career was in corporate financial management, the last as Vice President & Treasurer of Gentek Inc., a diversified producer of telecommunication equipment, automotive parts and specialty chemical products. I then worked for Isles in Trenton for three years where I started a residential weatherization business focusing on NJ's low income housing stock (it just recently weatherized units in Elm Court, I have been told). I left there one year ago and have since spent my time focusing on our municipal finances and consolidation.

Previous Government Experience:
I have been Chairman of the Citizens Finance Advisory Committee in Princeton Township for the last five years (the Committee analyzes and advises Township Committee on financial matters affecting our municipality).
Vice Chairman or the Transition Task Force (advising the Borough Council and Township Committee on Consolidation), Chairman of its Finance Subcommittee and a member of the Facilities Subcommittee.
Â
Other Civic Experience:
Managed evacuation shelters for the American Red Cross following Hurricanes Katrina & Rita in Louisiana and Mississippi.
Â
Why do you want to represent Princeton on Council?
Consolidation is a complex exercise that is similar in many respects to exercises that I have had much experience with in my business career. I want to see that it is done right and I would bring that unique experience and insight to Council, ensuring that consolidation will benefit all of our citizens. I also want to ensure that our diverse neighborhoods are well represented in future development plans through a more engaged and thorough planning and zoning process. Last, I would like to establish a more professional dialogue between our government and our institutions, especially Princeton University.
Â
What differentiates you from your opponents?
No other candidate has a background in financial management or the understanding of our finances as I do. These skills would be a critical addition and greatly contribute to ensuring the success of consolidation.
Â
If elected, what are your TWO top priorities for Princeton and specifically what will you do to make those a reality?
- Ensure that we achieve the maximum savings from consolidation, while we remain true to our values and continue the high level of services that Princeton residents expect. Stay focused on the process steps. Make sure we are looking out for the interests of ALL citizens.
- Review our master plan and zoning make sure that they truly reflect the realistic wishes of our citizens to maintain diversity, affordability, and character.
