Burglary, Aggravated Assault: Princeton Police Blotter

The following is a summary of incidents as reported by Princeton Police:
PRINCETON, NJ - On March 28, between 5 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., the victim reported that an unknown person stole their vehicle from a parking lot while it was parked, with its keys inside. While officers were investigating this incident, another victim came forward to report that someone had entered their vehicle while it was parked in the same parking lot and rummaged through it. Surveillance cameras in the area captured footage of the incident. The Detective Bureau is following up on the investigation.
On March 29, Patrol officers responded to a report of a male bleeding in the lobby at Thanet Circle. Upon investigation at the scene, it was determined that the victim and the accused, a 67-year-old Plainsboro man, had engaged in a verbal altercation that escalated into a physical confrontation. During this altercation, he assaulted the victim by using his hands to squeeze the victim's neck and strangle him for approximately 10 to 15 seconds. The Plainsboro man was arrested and taken to police headquarters, where he was processed and charged with aggravated assault and disorderly conduct. He was later released from custody and given a court date.

On March 29, Patrol officers responded to a business on Nassau Street following a report of theft by deception. On arrival, they spoke with the victim, who explained that a Hispanic man drove to the business in a white Ford van. The suspect requested $20 worth of gas to be put in his red gas can. He paid with a $100 bill and received $80 in change. After the suspect left, the victim discovered that the bill was counterfeit. The incident was captured via the business’ surveillance cameras, and the investigation is ongoing.
On March 29, a woman reported that sometime between March 28 at 4:30 p.m. and March 29 at 8:45 a.m., an unknown actor(s) stole her bicycle while it was parked in front of a business on Nassau Street. There are no suspects at this time.
