Charges Dismissed Against Princeton Man Charged with Criminal Sexual Conduct With A 16-year-old
A judge dismissed the charges due to a delay in prosecution.

Charges have been dismissed against a 49-year-old Princeton massage therapist who was arrested and charged with four counts of criminal sexual contact against a 16-year-old victim more than a year ago.
A judge dismissed the charges against Maximillian Shane due to a delay in prosecution, according to Casey DeBlasio, spokeswoman for the Mercer County Prosecutor's Office.Â

"The Prosecutor's office asked for several extensions, which were not granted, in order to gather further evidence so that a complete case could be presented to a grand jury," DeBlasio wrote in an email.Â
"It remains an open case in our office, and once we have all of the necessary evidence to proceed, a determination will be made," she continued.

Shane, of the 200 block of Mount Lucas Road, was arrested on Feb 16, 2012 and charged with the fourth degree crimes following an alleged incident that happened in Princeton Borough on Feb. 11, 2012, according to police.
Shane is a local massage therapist and had been a member of Princeton's Joint Recreation Board for the past five years. He took a voluntary leave of absence from the Recreation Board following his arrest and was not reappointed in 2013.Â
