Members of Fiasco Theater Company discuss next month’s performance of their first musical production, “Into the Woods,” at McCarter Theatre. Learn about the company’s signature style of physical storytelling and see a few sneak-peek numbers from the Sondheim musical. Princeton Public Library, Community Room, 7 p.m. 

 

Wednesday

A lecture: A Hollywood Celebrity, the “Bad Boy” of Music, and the History of Modern Wireless Communications. Mark Goresky, a member in the School of Mathematics, will explore how the origins of spread spectrum can be traced back to an unlikely collaboration in 1942 between a glamorous Hollywood film star and a renegade composer from Trenton, Wolfensohn Hall, Institute for Advanced Study, 4:30 p.m. 

José De Gregorio, professor of economics at the Universidad of Chile and former governor of the Central Bank of Chile, will give  Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall, Princeton University, 4:30 p.m. 

Princeton Symphony Orchestra’s Bravo program presents "Music Lessons: A Guide for Parents." A panel of experts will answer questions about developing your child’s musical side. Princeton Public Library, Community Room, 7 p.m. 

Colin Goddard, a survivor of the 2007 Virginia Tech shooting and assistant director, Brady Campaign to End Gun Violence, will give a public talk about gun violence and how he thinks gun laws can play a stronger role in creating a safer America.  Includes a screening of the film “Living for 32” – a documentary about the Virginia Tech shooting. 101 McCormick Hall, Princeton University, 7 p.m. 

 

Thursday

with Princeton Professor and Director of the Program in Contemporary European Politics and Society Harold James. Dodds Auditorium, Robertson Hall, Princeton University, 4:30 p.m. 

Princeton Academy of the Sacred Heart Headmaster Olen Kalkus discusses recent research on gender differences in brain development in children and how these findings to education during a talk, "Bridging the Gender Gap." Community Room, Princeton Public Library, 7 p.m. 

 Pre-concert talk by Ruth Ochs begins at 7 p.m., concert begins at 8. 

 

Friday

Princeton University's Patricia Fernandez-Kelly will be the keynote speaker on National Immigration Reform at YWCA Princeton during a national Stand Against Racism Event, Bramwell House, Noon. 

Pinot to Picasso, the Arts Council of Princeton's spring fundraising event.  Sip wine and sample fine foods while perusing the Tombola gallery. Ticket holders enjoy an Italian style art lottery where everyone wins. Proceeds support community arts initiatives, 6:30 p.m. 

 Learn about pointe shoe brands, materials, fitting, and different personal tricks and adjustments from ARB's ballerinas, 5:15 p.m. 

Princeton University Orchestra and Glee Club collaborate on Poulenc's Gloria and Ravel's "Daphnis et Chloe"  for the Stuart B. Bindlin Memorial Concert, Richardson Auditorium, Alexander Hall, Princeton University, 7:30 p.m. 

Princeton University Chapel, 7:30 p.m.
