Families Flock to Free Child ID Day in Princeton

Parents walked away with a photo, description and fingerprints of their children.

More than 150 children and their parents braved a rainy Saturday to attend a free Child ID Day at the YWCA Princeton.

The event, sponsored by New York Life Insurance Company of Edison, provided free identification kits to families, including a photo, fingerprints and a physcial description of the child.

The information will be an important tool for police should a child go missing.

“The goal is to have this information quickly available in the event of an emergency to give authorities," said Maya Youssef, New York Life Insurance agent and sponsor.

The YWCA also invited attendees to watch scheduled judo classes in the morning and Princeton Borough Police Sgt. Steven Riccitello presented a child safety lecture in the morning.
