New Resident-Business Coalition Launches Monthly 'First Fridays Princeton'

PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton's downtown business district is set to transform into a vibrant community hub with the launch of "First Fridays Princeton," a new monthly event series beginning Friday, June.

The initiative, spearheaded by Pieces of Princeton (POP), promises to bring together local businesses, residents, and visitors for an evening of music, special dining experiences, and community engagement.

The celebration begins a day early with an innovative "Chef Shop" event at the Princeton Farmer's Market on Thursday. Local chefs from participating restaurants will personally select farm-fresh ingredients that will then appear on their menus during "Local Food Friday," creating a direct connection between the community's agricultural resources and its dining scene.

This farm-to-table approach represents more than just a marketing concept—it's an effort to strengthen the bonds between Princeton's local food producers and its restaurant community, ensuring that residents can trace their Friday night dinner directly back to Thursday's farmer's market selections.

The inaugural First Fridays event showcases the diversity of Princeton's downtown offerings. Triumph Brewery will celebrate with a new barrel tapping accompanied by live jazz, while Tipple + Rose will host "Tea, Tapas, + Tunes," offering a more intimate setting for those seeking a refined evening experience.

Art enthusiasts can explore the work of nature artist Rebecca Deporte at Small World's Witherspoon location, while those with a sweet tooth can discover Whole Earth's debut Local Dessert Special. The Garden Theater rounds out the evening's offerings with a special Dinner + a Movie experience, demonstrating how the event encourages businesses to think creatively about their customer engagement.
