Former Borough Police Officer Awarded $525,000
Officer claimed his police chief retaliated against him for claiming he was the target of racial discrimination.

A jury in Mercer County Superior Court has awarded former borough police officer Gary Mitchell $525,000, according to NJ.com.
Mitchell, a black officer, had complained of racial discrimination in 2006. He claimed that soon thereafter, he faced disciplinary charges by former chief Anthony Federico in retaliation. He was offered retirement in exchange for the charges being dropped.
Borough officials could appeal the case.
