Don't Build Houses Next to the Princeton Battlefield

Writer argues against the Institute for Advanced Study's proposal to build faculty housing next to the historic site.

To the Editor:

As a boy growing up, the papers and my school taught me about protecting the wetlands. After the World War, the building boom destroyed acres of wetland. In the 1960's, environmentalists came together and got the Congress to pass laws to protect our wetlands. The wetlands are vital to our country's and the world's natural balance.

The Institute for Advanced Study has a development proposal before the Hearing Board right now. Despite their claim that they are following the law and being aware of the wetlands on their property, their development proposal is on top of wetlands.I don't want the future to come back and haunt us. I say no to the IAS development. The Hearing Board should vote NO!

Also, Washington's counter-attack was on the wetland in question too. Two good reasons to vote no.
