Princeton to Celebrate Flag Day Today at Noon

Flag day ceremonies dispose of tattered or worn flags disposed of in a dignified manner.

 

Princeton will hold its annual Flag Day Ceremony today, Thursday, June 14, at noon at the plaza at Princeton Township Hall, 400 Witherspoon Street. 

The 15th annual ceremony, sponsored by the Spirit of Princeton, will retire and burns flags that are tattered or are otherwise no longer suitable for display.

Residents who have flags that need to be retired should bring them to today's event in Princeton. 

Flag Day is celebrated each year on June 14 and is an opportunity for people to celebrate the American flag.

The Mercer County Office of Veteran Services will also hold an official flag decommissioning ceremony today at 6:30 p.m. in Veterans Park in Hamilton Township. In case of rain, the ceremony will be Friday, June 15.
