MoveOn Protesters Target Bank of America in Princeton
The protesters want to hold the bank accountable for the foreclosure crisis.

Nearly two dozen people protested outside Bank of America on Nassau Street Wednesday as part of an effort to hold the corporation accountable for the foreclosure crisis and to protest its use of tax loopholes.

"We want to tell Bank of America that we want fairness," read part of a release from MoveOn.org. "Stop foreclosing on individuals while using tax dodges to pay no taxes! Although other banks were involved equally in the economic meltdown and current foreclosure crisis, we are targeting our efforts on Bank of America."
The Princeton event- and others across the country- coincided with the Bank of America shareholder meeting in North Carolina.Â

"We just wanted to get their attention, said MoveOn NJ Media Coordinator Cheri Dzubak. "I guess they knew these events were going on today, they had a security guard standing outside."
Princeton University Professor Cornel West walked by the "99% Spring Bank Protest" at 90 Nassau Street and stopped to snap a picture with the protesters.Â
"We got a lot of positive comments from the passersby and we passed out a lot of leaflets about what corporations are doing to avoid paying taxes," Dzubak said. "We were really pleased."
