PDS Welcomes Five New Trustees

The Princeton Day School Board of Trustees welcomes five new members: Rebecca W. Bushnell ’70, J. Christopher (Chris) Dries, Virginia (Gina) C. Goldberg, Carol P. Herring and Stephen A. Pollard ’90.

Rebecca Bushnell ’70 graduated from PDS, and received her BA and MA from Swarthmore College and her PhD from Princeton University. A former trustee at PDS from 1983-1986, she serves on the School of Arts and Sciences Board of Overseers at the University of Pennsylvania, where she is also a professor of English. She lives in Philadelphia.

Chris Dries earned his BA from Duke University and his PhD from Princeton University. He serves as President and CEO of United Silicon Carbide, Inc. A former Annual Fund volunteer, he is the parent of a PDS student and lives with his family in Skillman.

Gina Goldberg received her BS degree from St. John’s University, and most recently served as Residence Supervisor at Beacon of Hope House in Staten Island, NY. Ms. Goldberg has held several volunteer positions at the School including Annual Fund volunteer, Middle School Parent Chair, and Nominating Committee Chair of the Parents Association. She is the Parents Association President-elect for the 2014-2015 academic year. The parent of two PDS students, she lives with her family in Cranbury.

Carol Herring earned her BA from Wellesley College, and most recently served as President of the Rutgers University Foundation. The parent of a PDS alum, Ms. Herring currently lives in Princeton.

Stephen Pollard ’90 graduated from PDS and received his degree from Brown University. He currently serves as Senior Vice President, Wealth Management Advisor, at Merrill Lynch & Co., Inc. Mr. Pollard is serving as the President of the Alumni Board at Princeton Day School. The parent of a PDS student, he lives with his family in Princeton.

PDS' Board of Trustees promotes the school’s mission, appoints and oversees the head of school, establishes broad policies, plans strategically for the school’s future, and develops and stewards the school’s financial and capital resources. Composed of 19 members, including the Head of School, the Board of Trustees meets six times each year. Members, who serve three-year terms, represent alumni, current and past parents and grandparents, and other friends of the school. The work of the board is completed through its standing committees, each of which meets regularly through the school year.
