PHS Studio Band Wins Berklee Jazz Festival

For the fourth consecutive year, the Princeton Studio Band won the prestigious Berklee Jazz Festival that is held in Boston.  

"The Berklee Jazz Festival is considered the National Championship for High School Jazz Musicians and we are really proud of our students," Princeton High School Band Director Joe Bongiovi said.

This year the PHS combo placed third in the combo division and the PHS vocalists competed for the first time, placing fifth.  

PHS also won many individual awards as well:

• Herb Pomeroy Composition Competition Winner - Aditya Raguram
• Vocal Judge's Choice Award - Allison Spann & Mira Shane
• Vocal Outstanding Musicianship - Mira Shane
• Combo Judge's Choice Award - Joe Bell
• Combo Outstanding Musicianship - Joe Bell & Aditya Raguram
• Large Ensemble Judge's Choice Award - Marc Stern
• Large Ensemble Outstanding Musicianship - Katherine Gerberich
• Large Ensemble Superior Musicianship - Marc Stern
