Planning Board, BOE, Construction Updates: Princeton This Week
Here's what's happening in Princeton this week:

BOE Meeting
Superintendent of Schools Carol Kelley announced her resignation on Oct. 27. The Board of Education will be hosting a special meeting on Monday, Oct. 30, at 7 p.m. at Valley Road.

Planning Board Meeting
The Municipality's Planning Board will be meeting on Thursday, Nov. 2 at 7 p.m. On the agenda is a discussion on Lanwin Development. For more details and Zoom link, click here.

Construction Updates
Here are the construction updates for the Week of Oct. 30
- The Washington Road bridge project is still underway; NJDOT hopes to open it to traffic in the near future.
- The Spring Street Garage concrete repairs are continuing. Up to 100 spaces will be unavailable for parking on Levels 3 and 4 of the garage as well as in the basement.
- PSE&G Electric and S. Brothers will be coordinating traffic control on Witherspoon Street for milling and paving and for electrical upgrades on utility poles which are taking place. Traffic will alternate in one lane through the construction area between Franklin Avenue and Green Street. Full closure of Witherspoon Street may be necessary at times.
- PSE&G Electric crews will be installing the new streetlights on Witherspoon Street between Spring Street and Green Street during the week.
- PSE&G’s contractor, Waters & Bugbee, will be working on gas main replacements on Library Place, Franklin Avenue and Linden Lane. New service connections will be installed on Moore Street between Guyot and Hawthorne as well as on Jefferson Road between Terhune Road and Valley Road. Work will also be taking place at the intersections of Birch Avenue/John Street and Leigh Avenue/Bayard Lane. Drivers need to be aware that these roads will be closed at times and detours will be in place.
- The Prentice Lane subdivision on Snowden Lane may have one lane closed with alternating traffic at times.
- Tree Removal around Princeton will continue at approximately 50 locations. Most roads will remain open with a detour when necessary for the work to be completed. Roads that require a full closure will have police presence including Cherry Valley Road, Drakes Corner Road, Herrontown Road and Quarry Street.
- PSE&G Electric will be trimming trees along Cherry Valley Road between Province Line Road and Great Road for the next few weeks. Traffic may be alternated in this area.
- NJDOT’s contractor has begun working on traffic signal upgrades at Nassau Street and Olden Lane.
