Police Chief's Car Returned to Princeton
By Monday morning the car, equipped with a police radio and lights, was sitting in the front parking lot of the Princeton Police Department on Valley Road.

The 2008 Dodge Charger used by Police Chief David Dudeck before he agreed to retire from the department was returned to Princeton over the weekend.
By Monday morning the car, equipped with a police radio and lights, was sitting in the front parking lot of the Princeton Police Department on Valley Road. Police officials confirmed it was Dudeck's work vehicle, but did not know how or when it was returned.

The vehicle's return comes three days after Patch published an article inventorying the items Dudeck still had in his possession, despite having no input on the day-to-day operations of the Police Department and agreeing to step down no later than Oct. 1 in the wake of multiple allegations of misconduct filed against him.
Princeton Administrator Bob Bruschi said he went and picked up the car on Mother's Day, even jump starting it when it wouldn't start. Dudeck also offered his handgun, but Bruschi said he declined to take it because he doesn't have a carry permit.

Dudeck was legally entitled to keep nearly $17,000 of Princeton equipment until Oct. 1, per the agreement that Princeton's attorney drafted and Princeton Council approved last month.
Dudeck still has a 2011 Apple iPad and a Glock 9mm handgun that belong to Princeton. The value of those items is estimated at less than $1,000.
