Princeton Extends Agreement With Consultant For Rosedale Road Safety Project
The overall cost of the contract will remain unchanged, according to the resolution.

PRINCETON, NJ — On Monday Council adopted a resolution to extend the professional services with a design consultant for the Rosedale Road Safe Routes to School project.
Under the Safe Routes to School (SRTS) Grant Princeton received $1,000,000 for the construction of pedestrian improvements on Rosedale Road and intersection improvements at General Johnson Road in 2018.
On October 26, 2020, the Municipality authorized a professional services agreement with NV5 as a design consultant to complete preliminary design services not to exceed the amount of $303,140. The term of the contract was until Oct. 15, 2023.

The Municipality anticipates that the construction will be completed by October 15, 2026, and professional services will be required until that time, hence extension was required.
“NV5 has completed a significant portion of the work and submitted documentation to NJDOT for review. In addition to the design review and analysis of environmental impacts, the project has been identified as requiring a National Historic Preservation Act Section 106 review,” Assistant Municipal Engineer James J. Purcell said in a memo.

"Due to the amount of time these reviews take to complete, an extension of time to the agreement with NV5 is necessary. Contracts for professional services connected with public works projects may be authorized for the length of time necessary for the completion of the actual construction. It is anticipated that the construction will be completed by October 15, 2026, and the professional services will be required until that time.”
The overall cost of the contract will remain unchanged, according to the resolution.
