Princeton Police Log: Thefts, Shoplifting and More

The following incidents were reported by Princeton Police for the period March 2-16, 2013.

 

Two Princeton men were arrested on March 2 shortly before 10 p.m. after police said one man left a Nassau Street business with alcohol and then handed it to a minor. 

Eric Lee-Schalow, 21, of Prospect Avenue, was issued a summons for furnishing alcohol to a minor. William Karney, 19, of Prospect Avenue, was issued a summons for underage possession of alcohol.

A resident in the 100 block of Bertrand Drive reported on March 2  that sometime between Feb. 22 and March 1, someone entered  their shed and removed two Trek bicycles. The bikes are valued at more than $1,600 combined.

Two juveniles were arrested shortly before 2 p.m. on March 3 after police received a report from a business in the first block of Nassau Street that the two had been seen concealing merchandise from the store. 

An investigation revealed that the two had taken items from several local stores. 

Two females, a 15-year-old from Princeton and a 14-year-old from Cranbury were charged with shoplifting and later released to their parents.

On March 9 around 8:30 p.m, a resident of the 100 block of Bertrand Drive reported that sometime between Jan. 17 and Jan. 27, someone entered the house and stole jewelry valued at $700. There was no forced entry to the home.

On March 9 around 1 p.m., a student at Princeton High School reported that on Feb. 26, someone had removed a laptop computer from their backpack. 

The computer is valued at $2,200.

A 57-year-old woman from Princeton was arrested on March 12 at about 6 p.m. after police responded to the first block of Benjamin Rush Lane and found that she had been drinking and driving and involved in a motor vehicle accident.

Laraine Lesnik of Benjamin Rush Lane was charged with driving while intoxicated. She was later released on her own recognisanze.

A 21-year-old woman from Robbinsville was arrested on March 15 around 12:45 a.m. after police stopped her car on Washington Road (at William Street) for a traffic violation and discovered that she had been drinking and driving. 

Christy Wham of Windsor Road was charged with driving while intoxicated and issued summonses for failure to keep right and failure to maintain a single lane. 

She was later released.

A 50-year-old Lawrenceville woman was arrested on Hale Drive at Worths Mill Lane on March 15 around 12:45 p.m. after a motor vehicle stop revealed that she was driving after consuming alcohol. 

Nancy Brosha, of Spring Beauty Drive, was charged with driving while intoxicated. She was later released to a relative.

A 29-year-old Princeton man was arrested on Nassau Street (near the intersection of S. Tulane Street) on March 16 around 10 a.m. after police spotted him drinking alcohol in a public place- a violation of a local ordinance. 

Ernst Delma of Leigh Avenue was charged with criminal interference and consumption of alcohol in a public place. 

Police said Delma fled on foot after being approached by police. He was issued summonses for both charges and released pending a court date.
