Princeton’s Winberie’s Restaurant Launches 40th Anniversary Beer

PRINCETON, NJ — Popular restaurant Winberie’s is celebrating its 40th anniversary this year. To mark this occasion, the restaurant is launching a special beer to capture the history of this community favorite.

Winberie’s is partnering with Icarus Brewing Company for the limited-edition brew.

The “WinbIcarus” is a Hazy Double IPA crafted with a heavy dose of wheat and oats to smooth out the hop bitterness and add a subtle sweetness.

Beer enthusiasts will enjoy the hint of pine, complemented by notes of tropical citrus, cantaloupe and mango.

“For the last 40 years, Winberie’s has been a place where people gather for good food, good beer and good memories,” said David Vocal, dining room manager for Winberie’s Restaurant & Bar.

“Our friends at Icarus Brewing Company have created a blend that captures this unique history as a Princeton community staple with modern flavors perfect for summer.”

Guests can experience the limited-edition blend at Winberie's Summer Solstice Happy Hour from 3 p.m. until sunset on Thursday, June 20. Representatives from Icarus will be onsite to share the story, offer samples and raffle off t-shirts and other prizes.

The inspiration behind the anniversary brew came from the restaurant’s first Hazy Double IPA keg from Icarus Brewing Company.

Launched in 2021 and created in 2018, the “Drinking Crayons” blend was the fastest to sell out in the restaurant's history, officials said.

The collaboration coincides with Icarus Brewing Company's "last call" at their original location as they transition to their new Brick Township location.

In the interim, Winberie's Restaurant & Bar will serve as a Mercer County home base for the company.

Additionally, as part of Winberie’s 40th Anniversary Bash in July, Icarus Brewing Company will be one of two highlighted breweries and will be pouring “WinbIcarus” alongside another exclusive brew, to be announced soon.
