Princeton Schools Appoints New Assistant Superintendent Of Special Services
Margarita Baldeo joins the Princeton schools from the Upper Freehold Regional School District.

PRINCETON, NJ – The Princeton Board of Education appointed Margarita Baldeo as the Assistant Superintendent of Student Services for the school district.
Baldeo’s appointment was unanimously approved during Tuesday’s BOE meeting.
With 18 years of experience in special education and mental health services, she has dedicated her career to supporting students, families, and educators in creating environments where all children can thrive.

“I am honored to join Princeton Public Schools as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services and bring my passion for student well-being, equity, and inclusive education to this incredible district,” Baldeo said.
“I am excited to join Princeton Public Schools and look forward to working together to create meaningful change for students and their families.”

She joins the district from Upper Freehold Regional School District where she has spent the last three years as the Director of Special Services.
Previously, she served as a Supervisor of Student Services in Hamilton Township School District and a child study team member.
As a licensed clinical social worker, she has worked closely with children, adolescents, and families facing a variety of mental health challenges, ensuring they receive the support and resources they need to succeed both academically and emotionally.

"Our district is renowned for its outstanding special education services, but there's always room for improvement. Margarita is dedicated to working collaboratively with families and staff to ensure the best outcomes for all students."
Baldeo earned her bachelor’s and master’s degrees in clinical social work from Rutgers University and completed school administrative certifications through NJEXCEL and Thomas Edison State University.
She is currently pursuing a Doctorate in Clinical Social Work at Rutgers University, focusing on developing tiered mental health support systems for students.
“As a bilingual educator, Margarita is committed to ensuring that all families feel welcomed, involved, and empowered in their children's education,” Kendal said. “We are excited to have a child-centered educator leading our special education programming.”
