Princeton Voted One of 10 Best Places to Live in NJ

New Jersey Monthly's latest list of the Garden State's 100 Top Towns will be featured in the September issue.

Princeton Township is one of the 10 Best Places to Live in New Jersey, according to New Jersey Monthly’s latest list of the Garden State’s 100 Top Towns.

"Buying a home is the biggest investment most of us will make in a lifetime," Editor Ken Schlager said. "Our Top Towns rankings are intended, at least in part, to help with that decision. Certainly, the towns in our Top 10 are among the most attractive in the state for any homebuyer."

Effective Jan. 1, 2013, Princeton Township and Princeton Borough consolidated into a single municipality, called Princeton.

The 2013 list of 100 Top Towns was compiled for New Jersey Monthly by the Polling Institute at Monmouth University. In creating the rankings, the researchers considered eight categories best representing the quality of life in New Jersey’s 566 municipalities: property taxes, home values, population growth, land development, employment, crime rate, school performance, and proximity to services.

At the top of this year’s ranking is Mendham Borough in Morris County.

Other Top Towns include:

Warren Township
North Caldwell
Norwood Borough
Union Township
Woodcliff Lake
Tenafly Borough
Demarest Borough
Hillsborough Township

“The 100 Top Towns” is featured in the September issue of New Jersey Monthly.
