Scheibner Applauds Consolidation, Vows to Work for Change
Mark Scheibner, who ran for Princeton Township Committee, says he will work to address economic development, University relations and outcomes-based budgets.

To the Editor:
I want to thank all of you who gave me the honor of your vote. I ran a campaign of ideas, and as with many new ideas, the initial adopters were a minority. While the majority of Princetonians did not vote for me, to a person everyone was receptive to the issues my campaign raised. This speaks volumes to the common decency of our neighbors, and to the prospects of future success. Mighty oaks from little acorns grow.
The election is over, the votes have been tallied, and Bernie Miller and Sue Nemeth have been returned to office. On election night, I went to Conti's to congratulate Bernie and Sue on their re-election, and to celebrate the historic passage of consolidation. Thomas Paine wrote in Common Sense, "We have it in our ability to create the world over again." For Princeton, we have an opportunity to unite our communities through the spirit of non-partisan action. I pledge my fullest support to make our consolidated Princeton a model for other communities to emulate.
The coming year will be one of great transition for Princeton. Yet the challenges of economic development, University relations, outcomes-based budgets and a sustainable Princeton cannot wait for a full year before they are substantively addressed.
My commitment is to continue to champion these non-partisan issues, to introduce them to our Borough neighbors, and to make a concerted effort to grow our community to encompass the broadest spectrum of Princetonians.
