Stuart Country Day Students Recognized for Academic Achievement

Five seniors received honors.

Fvie students at Stuart Country Day School of the Sacred Heart have been recognized by the National Merit Scholarship Corporation for outstanding performance on the 2010 Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test.

Christina Chun of West Windsor and Juliana Karp of Princeton were named National Merit Scholarship Program semifinalists, two of 16,000 students nationwide. Both students may compete for up to 8,300 National Merit Scholarships worth more than $34 million in the spring. 

Jennifer Liu of Pennington and Alisha Mehndiratta of Skillman were named Commended Students and each received a letter of commendation.

Tilar Martin of Princeton was named an Outstanding Participant in the National Achievement Scholarship Program, a program that honors academically promising black American students and received a recognition certificate. 

“I am so proud of our young women. This remarkable achievement goes above and beyond all they accomplish at Stuart,” said Dr. Patty Fagin, Stuart's head of school. “Recognition by NMSC demonstrates they are well prepared to excel academically as they proceed towards successful college careers.”
