Princeton Taxi Cab Troubles: Accident at Stockton Street Intersection

Late Wednesday night, a motor vehicle accident occurred at the intersection of Stockton Street and Library Place.

While out driving on Wednesday, 22-year-old Princeton resident Abolade Oduyemi was struck by a DNC Taxi at 10:28 p.m.

Operated by Jean Desane, the taxi was heading north on Library Place towards Mercer Street while Oduyemi was traveling east on Stockton Street towards Edgehill Street.

Oduyemi was uninjured in the accident. Desane was transporting a rear seat passenger who also sustained no injuries. Desane however complained of chest pain and was transported by ambulance to the University Medical Center at Plainsboro.

During the accident, the taxi cab struck a curb and then hit a fire hydrant. Oduyemi’s vehicle also struck a curb and two NJ DOT utility boxes. No damage was done to the fire hydrant or the utility boxes.

Desane received a summons on the scene for Failing to Observe a Traffic Signal.
