Theft of Identity, Criminal Mischief: Princeton Police Blotter

Catalytic converters were stolen from three cars in Princeton, police said.

PRINCETON, NJ - Princeton Police blotters dated Oct. 2 and 9 had the following reports:

On Sept. 27 at 9:01 a.m., a State Road resident told police that an unknown suspect(s) removed a catalytic converter from one of their vehicles causing a loss of approximately $4,500.

On Sept. 28 at 10:54 a.m., following a pedestrian stop on Witherspoon Street, a 43-year-old man was found to have an active warrant out of Princeton Municipal Court in the amount of $1,500. He was placed under arrest and taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed and turned over to the custody of the Mercer County Correctional Center.

On Sept. 28 at 9:08 a.m., the owner of a retail establishment on State Road told police that two vehicles had their catalytic converters stolen while they were parked in front of the building. The theft resulted in a loss of between $2,400.00 and $2,600.00 per vehicle.

Sept. 30, 4:26 p.m., the owner of an establishment on Hulfish Street told police that an unknown individual entered their retail establishment and shoplifted several items valued at $27.97.

On Oct. 2 at 11:31 a.m. the victim reported that an unknown individual stole the victim’s cell phone while they were at an establishment on Palmer Square East.

On Oct. 4 5:29 p.m., An employee of a retail establishment on State Road reported that two unknown suspects entered the store and stole $913.20 worth of merchandise. A review of surveillance footage revealed that a third suspect assisted by acting as a lookout while the other suspects stole the merchandise.

On Oct. 4 at 9:56 a.m. a Spruce Street resident told police that an unknown individual gained access to her e-mail and as a result, was able to fraudulently transfer and obtain $53,705.58 from the victim.

On Oct. 4, 12:14 a.m., following a building check on Paul Robeson Place, a 20-year-old was placed under arrest after previously being advised that they were not permitted on the premises. He was then taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed, charged and released.

On Oct. 5 at 9:40 a.m., a resident of South Harrison Street reported that a neighbor entered their residence without authorization to do so. The 63-year-old Princeton man was placed under arrest and taken to PPD Headquarters where he was processed, charged and released.

On oct. 6 at 3:52 p.m., a resident told police that eight election lawn signs were stolen from various yards within Princeton. The signs are valued at $10.00 each resulting in a total loss of $80.00.
