Today: Mrs. G's Cooking Class, Author Visit at PPL & More

Here's what's going on in and around Princeton today.

The Princeton Farmers' Market is open from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in Hinds Plaza, located next to the Princeton Public Library on Witherspoon Street. 

Stop by the Princeton University Art Museum to kick off a new year during the Nassau Street Sampler. Visit the galleries and enjoy musical performances by some of Princeton's beloved student groups as we kick off the fall season of the Museum's popular Late Thursdays events. Free, 5-8 p.m. 

BYOB Cooking Class at Mrs. G. TV & Appliances. Chef Mary Beth Madill will demonstrate "Fall, Fresh, and Local." Make kale and butternut squash soup, chicken with madiera sauce and roasted fall vegetables, pecan beet salad, and apple cake tartin. Must be 21 or over. Registration required. 2960 Route 1, $30, 6 p.m. 

Author Event at Princeton Public Library, 7 p.m., Deborah Yaffe, author of 'Among the Janeites,' will discuss her book "Among the Janeites" a glimpse into the subculture of Jane Austen fandom. Community Room, 7 p.m.
