Masked Bank Robber Caught, Princeton Police Say

The incident took place on July 28, when a woman with a handgun took money from a teller at TD Bank.

PRINCETON, NJ — A 37-year-old Skillman woman masked up and robbed a TD Bank in July, Princeton Police said Thursday.

Ciara Brascom, 37, from Skillman has been charged with robbery, criminal restraint, possession of a weapon for unlawful purposes, unlawful possession of a weapon, terroristic threats, theft, money laundering and aggravated assault.

On July 28 Princeton Police responded to a panic alarm at TD Bank, on 883 State Road. Shortly after, a bank teller called 911 to report a robbery in progress.

A woman entered the bank just before 2 p.m., approached the teller counter, and displayed a black semi-automatic handgun while handing the teller a note demanding money, police said.

After getting an undisclosed amount of cash, the woman fled the scene and was last seen walking south on Route 206 near the Exxon Gas Station at 870 State Road, police said.

An investigation headed up by Det. Daniel Chitren led authorities to Brascom.

With assistance from the Federal Bureau of Investigation, Brascom was taken into custody by Det. Chitren and Ptl. Melody Van Ness on Tuesday in Montgomery, police said.

Brascom is currently being held at the Mercer County Correction Center.
