YWCA To Host 1st Community Yard Sale In Princeton
The yard sale will celebrate sustainability, community spirit, and economic accessibility.
PRINCETON, NJ —YWCA Princeton will host their first ever Community Yard Sale on Saturday, Aug. 17, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the YMCA/YWCA field, at 59 Paul Robeson Place. Rain date is Sunday, Aug. 18.
Held in collaboration with Princeton Human Services and Sustainable Princeton, the yard sale is not an average shopping event.
It is a celebration of sustainability, community spirit, and economic accessibility, YWCA said.

"I am thrilled to be partnering with the YWCA on the coming Community Yard Sale. If all goes as expected, we hope it will be an annual event,” Councilmember Leticia Fraga said.

“The event offers numerous benefits, including promoting environmentally friendly practices through recycling, repurposing, and reusing items. It will also provide budget-friendly shopping alternatives, especially for our economically disadvantaged residents who have limited options and resources. In my experience, the most effective way to build community is by collaborating with our community partners to meet the needs of our residents."
Through the event, Princeton hopes to contribute to a vibrant community atmosphere.
“We are excited to partner with Princeton Human Services and Sustainable Princeton for our upcoming community yard sale. This event is more than just an opportunity to find great bargains,” YWCA Princeton Chief Executive Officer Rosanda Wong said. “It is a chance for neighbors to come together and strengthen our community bonds. Together, we can make a meaningful difference and foster a spirit of generosity and unity in our community."
The event is free to the public and will feature a wide array of gently used clothing, toys, and back-to-school necessities.
Vendor applications are still being accepted. Reach out to Chief Advancement Officer, Karen Faiman, at kfaiman@ywcaprinceton.org or 609-497-2100 x316 with any questions.
