Allendale Rehabilitation & Healthcare Launches Stroke Recovery Program
Specialized Offering Among Region's First of its Kind

Allendale Rehabilitation & Healthcare Center has launched a Stroke Recovery program under the direction of Kavneet Kaur, MD, MPH. The specialized subacute care offering at the Allendale skilled nursing facility is among the first of its kind in Bergen County.
Allendale’s Stroke Recovery services are tailored to meet the specific needs and goals of an individual, dependent on how they have been impacted by a stroke. The program aims to help restore physical function and the ability to perform daily activities, gain strength and endurance, improve balance and mobility, manage pain and spasticity, overcome speech and communication deficits, and develop new cognitive strategies.
Dr. Kaur is board certified in neurology and vascular neurology. Highly respected as a visionary physician leader, she has held numerous senior leadership roles within Garnet Health System, including serving as medical director and chair of Neurology, and is a sought-after speaker and author. Dr. Kaur also maintains a private practice in New Jersey.

They aim to provide for the best possible outcome for each stroke survivor in their care.”
Allendale’s multidisciplinary services include physical, occupational and speech therapies. The introduction of Allendale’s Stroke Recovery Program coincides with the center’s ongoing, multi-million-dollar renovation. Highlights include an expanded therapy gym, which features state-of-the-art equipment to support the unique needs of stroke survivors.
