The Week Ahead in Ramsey

Library programs, school events and more, this week in Ramsey.

The Ramsey Public Library is hosting the following programs the week of Oct. 4:

  • Crocheting with Sally Ann Monday, Sept. 30 from 3:30 p.m. to 5 p.m. This eight week intensive program will teach your child to crochet and come away with their very own creation. For grades 4 through 6, kids must commit to the eight sessions to complete their project. Program is on Mondays from 3:30 - 5:00 pm September 23 & 30, October 7, 21 & 28, November 11, 18 & 25. Sign ups are required.
  • Toddler Storytime Tuesday, Oct. 1 at 10 a.m. For all 21/2 to 31/2 year olds and their caregivers. Come, drop-in for stories and a craft - No signups are required for this program.
  • Newborn Storytime Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 9:30 a.m. For newborns to 18 months little people and their caregivers. Drop in for a story, fingerplay and rhymes - No signups are required.
  • Conversation Class with Mary Wednesday, Oct. 2 from 10 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. English Language Learners Class. 
  • Baby Storytime Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 10:30 a.m. For 19 months - 2 1/2 year olds and their caregivers. Come, drop-in for a story, fingerplay and rhymes. No signups are required.
  • Preschool Storytime Wednesday, Oct. 2 at 1 p.m. For 4 - 6 year olds and their caregivers. Drop-in for stories and songs, no signups are required for this program.
  • Preschool Storytime Thursday, Oct. 3 at 10 a.m. Calling all 4 to 6 year olds (and their caregivers). Come, drop in for stories and songs -  No signups are required for this program.
  • Kids Yoga Friday, Oct. 4 from 9:30 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. PreK - Kindergarten age group, join Ms Brenda for yoga. Sign-ups are required for this program.
The new managers of the Ramsey Cinema are kicking off their campaign to raise funds to digitize and update the two-screen theater through Kickstarter.com on Tuesday, Oct. 1. Stay tuned to Patch for more information.  

Dater School is hosting Back to School Night on Thursday, Oct. 3 from 7:30 p.m. to 9 p.m.

Dunk Your Kicks for Pediatric Cancer--please help The Max Cure Foundation by donating your gently used shoes at the Ramsey Library to support Pediatric Cancer. $1.00 donated for each pair to the Roar Beyond Barriers Program.

The Borough's Fall leaf pick-up begins on Monday, Oct. 21. Any leaves outside the fall leaf pick-up may continue to be taken to the Borough's compactor site located behind the Borough garage. A random pick-up is scheduled for the weeks of Nov. 25 and Dec. 2. Click here for a copy of the leaf pick-up schedule.
