RED BANK, NJ — Two teenagers have been arrested and charged in connection with multiple incidents of graffiti found within the borough, Red Bank Police Chief Michael Frazee said.

The arrests come after police investigated graffiti that was found at three Red Bank locations: 8, 40, and 76 Leighton Avenue.

As a result of the investigation, two teenagers were identified and taken into custody on Oct. 8 and Oct. 10, Frazee said.

“The Red Bank Police Department remains committed to maintaining the quality of life in our community and encourages residents to report any suspicious activity,” Frazee said in a news release.

The graffiti found on Leighton Avenue is far from the first graffiti incident reported in Red Bank.

Over the summer, Frazee said the department responded to “a noticeable uptick” in graffiti incidents throughout the borough, with a majority of occurrences reported west of Shrewsbury Avenue.

According to police, some of these incidents led to about $9,000 in damages and the arrest of a Red Bank man.
