4 Charged In Fatal Red Bank Double-Shooting

The July shooting left one person dead and another person injured, prosecutors said.

RED BANK, NJ — Four people have been charged in connection with a fatal shooting that left one dead and another injured in July, Monmouth County Prosecutor Raymond Santiago said.

The shooting occurred shortly after 3 a.m. on July 10, prosecutors said. Red Bank Police responded to the 100 block of River Street for a report of shots fired when they found two men suffering from gunshot wounds.

One of the victims, later identified as Mikal Muhammad, 36, of Red Bank, was pronounced dead on the scene, Santiago said.

The other man was transported to Jersey Shore University Medical Center, treated and released. The man's name was not released.

An investigation into the shooting resulted in Lahmeir Hill, 31, of Pemberton Borough, and Sadiq Palmer, 25, of Freehold Borough, being identified as those responsible for the shooting, Santiago said.

Hill and Palmer were each charged with murder, attempted murder, conspiracy to commit murder, and various unnamed weapons charges, according to prosecutors.

Simone Moultrie, 53, of Red Bank, was also charged with murder, attempted murder, and hindering, prosecutors said. Ticco Griffin, 29, of Red Bank, was charged with hindering.

The investigation into the shooting was led by the Major Crimes Bureau and Narcotics and Criminal Enterprise Unit of the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office and the Red Bank Police Department.

New Jersey State Police, the Monmouth County Emergency Response Team, the Burlington County Prosecutor's Office, the Freehold Borough Police Department and the Pemberton Borough Police Department also assisted in the investigation, Santiago said.
