Go Fishin' — There is a reason so many people "would rather be fishing." It's a great relaxing pastime and one for all ages. The Navesink winds through Monmouth County and is home to bluefish, striped bass, crabs, and other river life. Don't know much about fishing but would like to learn? A website called On The Water has helpful info, including where you'll find bait and tackle shops.

Monmouth Moms Festival — It's happening April 23, before Mother's Day, and it's free. The Axelrod Ballet Contemporary Ballet Theatre will give a special performance and dozens of vendors will converge at the Bell Works over in Holmdel. Local food, storytime and face painting for the kids, and you only spend for what you may choose to buy. Check it out here.
