5 Red Bank-Shrewsbury Nonprofits To Support This Holiday Season

RED BANK-SHREWSBURY, NJ — If you’re like many of your Red Bank or Shrewsbury neighbors, you may spend a good part of the holiday season with your credit card in hand buying gifts for family and friends. Coming up soon is a chance to give back to the local community.

Giving Tuesday, which in 2024 falls on Dec. 3, is a day dedicated to supporting nonprofit and community groups.

Since 2012, nonprofits worldwide have used the Tuesday after Thanksgiving to galvanize fundraising, rally volunteers and add momentum to their causes.

Maintaining funding is a constant challenge for many nonprofits that fill gaps and meet other needs in the Red Bank-Shrewsbury area.

Here are five local nonprofits to consider getting behind on Giving Tuesday:

1. Lunch Break: Freely provides food, clothing, life skills and fellowship to those in need throughout Monmouth County and beyond.
2. National Women’s Health Resource Center: A voluntary, nonprofit organization committed to providing information that enables women and their healthcare providers to make informed health decisions.
3. No Limits Cafe: A lunch cafe that trains and employs adults with intellectual disabilities.
4. Open Heart Yoga: Aims to enrich the Red Bank community by providing greater access to yoga and mindfulness while creating a more diverse and inclusive environment to practice.
5. Foundation for Shrewsbury Education: Aims to enhance the educational programs and technology for students in Shrewsbury and the wider community.
