New Wawa Set To Open In Monmouth County: See When

A grand opening event for the new store will include free t-shirts for the first 100 customers, free coffee, a ribbon cutting and more.

FREEHOLD, NJ — A new Wawa is soon set to open its doors in Freehold and will host their grand opening event on Thursday.

Starting at 7:55 a.m., Wawa General Manager Michael Firth will do the honors of counting down the moment when the doors of the new Wawa open for the very first time at 8 a.m.

After doors open, customers will be invited to participate in a brief ceremony at 8:30 a.m. to celebrate the new store team and the positive impact that associates will have in the community.

This program will include a ribbon-cutting event with local officials and a “Hoagies for Heroes” hoagie-building competition between first responders benefiting local charities.

Additionally, officials said there will be free Wawa t-shirts for the first 100 customers (as supplies last) and free any-size hot coffee through Sunday. Wawa's mascot, Wally Goose, will also be in attendance for the grand opening.

“Wawa is inviting customers to a grand opening event to celebrate associates, customers, and the community,” the company said in a statement. “Wawa is proud to open its doors to provide trusted quality products, convenience, new jobs, support, and to Fulfill Lives in the community.”

As part of the store's grand opening, Wawa is also toasting the new Freehold store with limited-time holiday flavors, including Snickerdoodle, Peppermint Cookies & Cream and Peppermint Mocha.

Customers will be able to enjoy the holiday flavors in handcrafted beverages ranging from lattes to hot chocolates, iced coffees, cold brews, cream smoothies and milkshakes, officials said.

“Wawa’s holiday flavors, available in a variety of customizable handcrafted beverages, are the perfect way to toast the holiday season,” said Mary-Rose Hannum, Chief Marketing Product Officer. “We know our customers are busy this time of year and we’re proud to be their trusted stop for fresh food and beverage needs, as well as holiday shopping needs!”
