Walk In Red Bank Will Celebrate Overdose Awareness Day

There will also be a ceremony at Riverside Gardens Park​. See here how to attend.

RED BANK, NJ — Overdose Awareness Day is being celebrated with a 0.7-mile walk in Red Bank at 4 p.m. on Aug. 31.

The meet-up is at 3:15 p.m. by the Tigger House Foundation, at 93 Shrewsbury Avenue.

At the end of the walk, there will be a ceremony at Riverside Gardens Park, with speakers, substance use resources and information, as well as a moment of silence for those who lost their lives to overdose.

The event is being held by the Monmouth County Board of Commissioners, the Tigger House Foundation and the Monmouth County Prosecutor’s Office.

Ahead of Overdose Awareness Day, several towns in Monmouth County, like Hazlet, have been displaying purple flags in honor of the day.
