African Americans & The Arts Will Be Theme Of Freehold Program
Court Street School Education Community Center is sponsoring a Freehold program on the influence of African Americans on our culture.
FREEHOLD, NJ — African American contributions to the arts is the theme of this year's Black History Month program sponsored by the Court Street School Education Community Center.
The event is Saturday, March 16, from noon to 2 p.m. at the Reformed Church of Freehold, 67 W. Main St. in Freehold.
The national Black History theme for 2024 has been "African Americans and the Arts."

This year's program in Freehold will take the audience on a journey through African American contributions to the arts and how those arts have "undergirded and propelled American culture throughout history." There will be a particular focus on the Harlem Renaissance, organizers say.
Following the program is a tour of the Historic Court Street School on 140 Court St. Light refreshments will be served.

The center says programming related to Black history is rooted in the belief that Black history is to be celebrated throughout the year.
The culmination of its celebration of Black history is this annual program, which is open to the entire community, organizers say.
