Back To School: What To Expect In Red Bank With COVID-19 Spike
Here are the quarantine rules schools are currently imposing and what happens if they are forced to resume virtual learning.
RED BANK, NJ —As COVID-19 numbers spike around the country and in New Jersey in particular, some school districts have made the choice to opt for virtual learning.
Students from Red Bank Regional High School district will go back to remote classes, while students from Red Bank Borough Public Schools will continue to go to class.
"The recent increase in COVID-19 transmissions has impacted many of our staff and students. Unfortunately, the anticipated rate of staff absences impedes our ability to provide for adequate class coverage and supervision of students," the Red bank Regional district wrote in an update Monday.

Remote learning is expected to last until this Friday.
Red Bank Borough Public Schools superintendent Jared J. Rumage said on social media that schools would be open starting Jan. 4. All after achool activities, however, are canceled until the end of the week — as are Red Bank Borough Public Schools'.

In an earlier message to parents, Rumage had considered using emergency days due to the high volume of reported COVID-19 related issues.
As mandated by the state, there is an emergency contingency plan for virtual learning in case the decision to go back to remote learning is taken at a local or state level.

Virtual School Schedule - Red Bank Regional has worked with internet providers and municipal and state leadership to ensure all students have access to high-quality access.
Continued Meal Service - Breakfast and lunch will be available for pick up at school and other sites as needed.
