RED BANK, NJ - It’s a telltale sign that spring is upon us: Red Bank’s Boondocks Fishery has announced its reopening date amid warmer weather.

The Marine Park location on the Navesink, which features a full menu of fish-filled starters, sandwiches and platters, will be reopening its doors on May 11. The site, which has served the region since 2009, is cash-only and does not take reservations.

Until then, the Boondocks Fishery 2-Go at 78 Bridge Avenue (the locaiton of the former The Chowda House) will be offering a similar menu, save for the addition of soups, lobster pot pies and lobster grilled cheese.

But if you go, bring a jacket for those chiller spring days as the to-go location does not offer indoor dining.

Boondocks Fishery's owner Kelly Ryan told TAPInto Red Bank that the new takeout space can eventually accommodate private parties of up to 60, COVID-19 restrictions permitting.

"It is the perfect space for it, with a private entrance, private bathrooms, fully fenced in and parking," Ryan told the publication.
