Election Signs on Public Land Upset Candidate
Republican challenger Sue Viscomi said re-election signs for her opponents keep appearing on public property.

Sue Viscomi is tired of seeing re-election signs on public property.
The Republican candidate in the upcoming Red Bank Council election has spotted several incidents of re-election signs for incumbent Democrats Councilman Mike DuPont and Council President Art Murphy appearing on public land, including at the Red Bank Primary School and Count Basie Fields.
Viscomi, a Red Bank Board of Education member, brought the issue up at the borough's council meeting Wednesday night. Viscomi first spotted DuPont and Murphy re-election signs on Primary School property several weeks ago, though the signs, placed on the property without permission, were soon removed on order by Superintendent Laura Morana.

Red Bank has an ordinance prohibiting political signs from appearing on public property. If signs aren't removed in a timely manner, the offending party could be subject to a summons from the borough's code enforcement.
It's unknown who planted the signs, though it appears to be someone or someones other than than Murphy and DuPont. While Murphy thanked Viscomi for her comments, DuPont promised to personally remove the offending signs per Viscomi's request.
