Endometrial cancer, affecting the lining of the uterus, is on the rise in the United States. With an estimated 68,000 new cases and 13,000 deaths predicted for 2024 by the American Cancer Association, understanding this disease is crucial for women's health.

Endometrial cancer, also known as uterine corpus cancer, can have subtle symptoms at first. Ashley Ford Haggerty, M.D., a gynecologic oncologist at Hackensack Meridian Riverview Medical Center, emphasizes the importance of being aware of any unusual bleeding that is not related to your menstrual cycle, especially after menopause.
The initial symptoms of endometrial cancer can be subtle, making early detection challenging. Even a small amount of blood on toilet tissue warrants a visit to your doctor. Other potential symptoms include pelvic pain, difficulty urinating, unexplained changes in bowel or bladder habits, pain during sexual intercourse, and bloating.
