RED BANK, NJ — In honor of National Puppy Day, Frame to Please in the Galleria is running a special pet adoption event and fundraiser Saturday. "Puppy Palooza" runs from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 23.

One hundred percent of all sales Saturday go to a special rescue for often hard-to-adopt animals, Home Free Animal Rescue, based in Red Bank.

So on March 23 you can not only patronize the longtime custom frame shop, but meet an adorable pup who might just be the one for you.

With the rain expected Saturday, owner Megan Prenderville said she was not sure how many dogs will arrive - but perhaps six will be on site.

But she says the Prendervilles' Paws for a Cause, the charitable endeavor of Frame to Please, is using the event to raise funds for a very special animal rescue.

This year’s beneficiary will be Red Bank-based Home Free Animal Rescue, with over 8,000 saves since their inception, this group champions for black dogs and cats, plain brown wrappers, bully breeds, seniors, pregnant animals and others that would be ordinarily overlooked.

Funding is absolutely essential for Home Free Animal rescue to continue their life saving efforts, says Megan Prenderville.

"To honor them and thank them for saving Boomer and Lula (the Prendervilles' rescue dogs), Paws for a Cause will be donating 100 percent of all sales that day to Home Free Animal Rescue, who will be present with adorable adoptable puppies and information on how to volunteer," they say.

And she expects it will be a great way to celebrate her birthday, also March 23. "My birthday is on National Puppy Day," she said with a laugh - appropriate for a true lover of animals.

Megan Prenderville said Paws for a Cause sells human-oriented items that 100 percent aid fundraising. There is a specially dedicated fundraiser, too, you can help on Saturday for a rescue puppy who needs a kidney operation. She said the pup had to be returned because the new owners could not afford the procedure.

Frame to Please, owned by Megan and Mike Prenderville, has been in business in The Galleria for 20 years and before that it was home-based, but "grew and grew," she said. Megan trained with artist Andy Warhol's master framer, she said, so the business is often called upon to complete the most challenging framing work.

Light refreshments will be served. Along with other special Galleria offerings. There is free on site parking. The Prendervilles are also giving a "special thank to Omega Graphics for their printing contribution."

Frame to Please is located in The Galleria at 2 Bridge Ave., Red Bank, 07701. Frame to Please is a full-service, custom framing shop, specializing in expert craftsmanship.
