Gas Main Break In Red Bank Now Repaired, Utility Says
New Jersey Natural Gas Co. was on the scene Monday to repair a gas main break in the West Sunset area.
RED BANK, NJ — Due to a gas main break, gas service was interrupted Monday for 20 to 25 customers on West Sunset Avenue west of Leighton Avenue, as well as for customers on Tilton Avenue south of the Montgomery Terrace apartments, the borough announced Monday morning.
A spokesperson for New Jersey Natural Gas, Michael Kinney, said a third-party contractor working on a water service line struck a two-inch gas line.
The borough informed the gas company about the break at 8:55 a.m. and it was made safe by 10 a.m., said Kinney, director of Corporate Communications.

Crews were on site Monday and on Kinney said, in an email to Patch on Tuesday, that all repairs have been made and service restored to all customers affected.
Once work was completed, the crews were to then go to each home to assist in relighting pilot lights to such home equipment as furnaces and water heaters, Kinney said.
