Over the course of 26 years, Light of Day has raised approximately $7 million, according to the Count Basie Center.

In November 2000, the first official Light of Day concert was held at the Stone Pony in Asbury Park and primarily featured local, unsigned artists. Since then, Light of Day has grown from a one-day event into a multi-day festival in the metropolitan area.
