Hydrant Flow Testing Planned For Red Bank

The test is used to determine the water flow rate available from a hydrant for a fire emergency, borough officials said.

RED BANK, NJ — Residents should be aware of hydrant flow testing scheduled for Wharf Street at 11 a.m. on Thursday, borough officials said.

According to officials, hydrant flow testing is a way to determine the water flow rate available from a hydrant for a fire emergency.

Besides determining the flow rate, officials said hydrant flow testing also allows municipalities to color-code their fire hydrants according to their strength of output.
