Identity of Red Bank Homicide Victim Revealed
The Camden resident was shot sometime late Tuesday night or Wednesday morning.

The Monmouth County Prosecutor's Office revealed the identity of a man it says was shot and killed in Red Bank sometime late Tuesday night or early Wednesday morning.
According to First Assistant Prosecutor Rich Incremona, the victim was identified as Shapell Kendrick, a 32-year-old Camden resident.
Kendrick's body was found in a single-family home at 97 W. Sunset Avenue by a family member before 9 a.m., authorities said Tuesday. Incremona said Kendrick died by gunshot and that the incident is being investigated as a homicide.

Further details regarding the incident were not currently known. Incremona could not divulge if the proseuctor's office had and suspect leads but did confirm that no arrests have been made in connection with the incident. It's unclear if Kendrick was living in Red Bank or staying with a family member at the time of his death.
Members of the Red Bank Police Department, Prosecutor's Office and the county's Sheriff department cordoned off much of the street surrounding the home Tuesday. Red Bank Animal Control was also called in to assist, though it's unclear what involvement that department had in the investigation.

News about the incident came to a surprise to several residents in the neighborhood. Those who spoke to Patch Tuesday said they did not hear any gunfire during the night or early morning and that they did not know who was living at 97 W. Sunset Avenue.
The investigation continues.
