Man Hit By NJ Transit Train In Red Bank Identified
Anthony Depalma, 39, of Highlands, was taken to Riverview Medical Center and died due to his injuries, police said.
RED BANK, NJ — The man struck and killed by an NJ Transit train in Red Bank Saturday afternoon has been identified, Red Bank Police Captain Michael Frazee said.
Anthony Depalma, 39, of Highlands, was hit at the Bridge Avenue-Monmouth Street train crossing around 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, Frazee said.
Police who responded began to provide Depalma with medical assistance before he was taken to Riverview Medical Center, where he later died due to his injuries, Frazee said.

No injuries were reported to the 600 passengers and crew on board the train, said John Chartier, NJ Transit media relations director.
“Incidents like today are never easy,” Frazee said. “And I give credit to Sgt. Ashon Lovick and his officers, Ptl. Watson, Ptl. Todd, Ptl. Mellaci, Ptl. Maggulli, Ptl. Ramos as well as the Red Bank Fire Department, because the incident requires an all-hands-on-deck response.”

NJ Transit Police are leading an investigation into the incident, Chartier said.
