Owen Tillman Kenney, 19, was walking alone onto the Ravenel Bridge pedestrian walkway shortly after 3 a.m. on Oct. 31, police said. He is described as 6’1 in height and weighing 155 pounds.
While initial reports indicated that Kenney was wearing a Boston Celtics jersey at the time he went missing, police said evidence now confirms that Kenney was wearing a black hooded jacket, light-colored pants, and black Nike sneakers with white soles.

His cellphone’s last recorded location was also on the Ravenel Bridge around the same time.
The Charleston Police Department has deployed multiple resources in the search for Kenney, police said, including the Underwater Team, Harbor Patrol, K9 units and their Unmanned Aerial System Team.
Police have also received support from Carolina K9 Search and Rescue of Anderson, SC, the South Carolina Department of Natural Resources and the Charleston County Sheriff’s Office Aviation Unit, and are working in coordination with the FBI and the NJ State Police.
Detectives remain in regular communication with Kenney’s parents as well, police said, who continue to be an important part of the ongoing investigation.
“We would like to thank the countless people who have been looking for Owen and sharing his photos on social media,” Charleston Police said in an online statement.
“While we recognize the tremendous public interest and concern surrounding this case, it is important to remember that at the heart of this investigation is a family searching for their loved one,” the statement continued. “Misinformation and speculation circulating online can hinder progress by diverting attention and resources away from verifiable leads.”
Charleston Police are asking the public to rely on official updates from law enforcement and share any credible information directly with investigators.
