NJ is Among the Best Again! Six Flags Great Adventure Voted 2nd Best Theme Park, Just in Time for National Roller Coaster Day
USA TODAY has voted Six Flags Great Adventure 2nd in their Best Theme Park contest.

After four weeks of competitive voting, USA TODAY and 10Best Readers’ Choice announced this week that Six Flags Great Adventure, the world’s largest theme park, captured second place in the Best Theme Park contest.
Known for its world-class thrill rides and one-of-a-kind Safari Off Road Adventure, the Jackson theme park boasts 12 roller coasters including three of the world’s best—El Toro, Nitro and Kingda Ka.
“We are grateful to our enthusiastic fans who voted Six Flags Great Adventure one of the best theme parks. The award speaks to our industry-leading, innovative thrill rides and attractions, as well as our delivery of first-class guest service,” said Park President John Fitzgerald.
Great Adventure’s sister property, Six Flags Magic Mountain in Valencia, Calif., took the coveted No. 1 spot as America’s Best Theme Park.

National Roller Coaster Day: Saturday, August 16

Roller coaster fans can celebrate the park’s diverse collection August 16 during National Roller Coaster Day, with a thrilling lineup of roller coaster special events, exclusive ride times and social media announcements.
The day kicks off with exclusive ride time on the record-breaking Kingda Ka, the world’s tallest and fastest coaster, plus a bonus of the brand new Zumanjaro: Drop of Doom, the world’s tallest and fastest drop ride, from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. All guests are welcome with valid theme park admission or Season Pass.

All visitors are encouraged to wear their favorite Great Adventure coaster shirt to win prizes such as free tickets, Season Passes and coaster memorabilia from the “Six Flags Prize Patrol.” In addition, the Prize Patrol will make surprise visits to all of the coasters throughout the day and offer double rides to entire trains of lucky guests.
Guests can also celebrate National Roller Coaster Day with interactive scavenger hunts and competitions on Twitter and Instagram. The hashtag #sfcoasters will be used for Twitter fans to connect with people enjoying the event at all SixFlags locations.
“Great Adventure is home to three of the world’s top ranked coasters -- Kingda Ka, El Toro and Nitro,” said John Fitzgerald, park president. “There is no better way to celebrate this special day than by getting your adrenaline rush with fellow thrill seekers at the world’s largest theme park.”
The park will its announce exciting 2015 plans on August 28.
