'Stronger When We Work Together': Red Bank Community Unites For Day Of Hope Walk
JBJ Soul Kitchen's annual event aims to highlight the people and organizations who work each day to improve the lives of others.
RED BANK, NJ — The Red Bank community came together on Tuesday for the JBJ Soul Kitchen’s seventh annual Day of Hope Walk, which aims to unite local organizations and inspire positive, lasting change in the community.
With over 65 organizations and over 600 community members in attendance, the walk served as an opportunity for all attendees to share experiences, strengthen relationships, and brainstorm new ways to work together to support those in need.
The event also allowed attendees to network, raise awareness and engage directly with residents and local business owners who want to make a difference. It was not just a day of walking, officials said, but rather one of moving together.

“The turnout today was truly inspiring,” said Nicole Dorrity, program manager for JBJ Soul Kitchen. “We’re proud to stand alongside so many dedicated individuals who are committed to serving our neighbors. We are stronger when we work together, and today was a perfect reflection of that.”
The JBJ Soul Kitchen Community Restaurant (with its Pay It Forward model) shares a deep commitment to helping others through partnerships, officials said.

The Day of Hope Walk was created in 2017 to highlight the individuals and organizations who work every day (often behind the scenes) to improve lives across town. Whether through providing food, shelter, resources, emotional support, or healthcare, the collective efforts don’t go unnoticed.
“The Day of Hope Walk reflects everything we stand for at JBJ Soul Kitchen,” said Dorothea Bongiovi, founder of JBJ Soul Kitchen and creator of the Day of Hope Walk. “It’s about dignity, inclusion, and showing up for one another. We created this walk to shine a light on the people and organizations working daily to lift up others.”
“We believe everyone deserves an opportunity to live their best lives,” Bongiovi continued. “And this event shows that we can have a greater impact when we work together.”
The JBJ Soul Kitchen extends its thanks to everyone who participated in and supported this year’s walk, and looks forward to continuing the annual tradition and building on the connections and momentum created on Tuesday.
